The Aspen Institute needed a solution to bring its global fellows together under “one roof” during the COVID pandemic – with travel restrictions in place, the next best option was to gather everyone virtually.  With fellows spread around the world with some located in places with limited connectivity, the ask was to make the event accessible, inclusive, and manageable with keynote remarks, parallel sessions, networking opportunities and watch parties and not to forget live translations.

After scouring various platforms, we landed on Hopin for the virtual host and layered Kudo as the interpretation plug in.  We pre-recorded some of the fellows as they recounted personal stories to be shared during the live virtual event, edited the videos for branding and added intro cards, sent out detailed instructions for connectivity, run rehearsals and remained on-hand as we went live virtually.
